Shipperley got convicted and now on the register for masturbaring whilst stopped st a set of traffic lights in Hayes.
He had wound the window down whilst o mother snd her 16 year old daughter crossed rhe road.
In court his defence council cited the death of his father as one of the reasons for this cry for help and went on to add that on the day in question things came to a crescendo. .

When Neil Shipperley was playing for Charlton (iirc) I shared a bottle of champagne with him and his dad (Roy?), his dad was hilarious and Neil was a good lad, big fella.

I used to play in the Thurrock Sunday League many moons ago, one of the teams we played against had a bloke in midfield who was the spit of a tubby Van Morrison but fuck me could he play. Fat cunt.

I remember going to see the Wally St. Pier testimonial in 1975, after we had won the FA Cup and John ‘Budgie’ Byrne turned out for the 1964 and 65 team. He was so fat by that time that he never ventured out of the centre circle for the entire time that he was on the pitch.
